About the Artist
I grew up in an East Indian household and have always been surrounded by rich colors, textures and a mother (along with all our friends and relatives) decked out in layers of beautiful jewelry! The Indian culture is so vibrant and festive, yet always has an atmosphere of elegance and grace surrounding it. I try and emulate that same emotion in my jewelry.
I also was lucky enough to grow up in a house where everyone was always reading, thinking and sharing thoughts (perhaps not always welcomed, but sharing all the same!!). I love to create jewelry that evokes emotion, conversation...something that allows you to think about your surroundings, your very being.
I love making custom pieces - jewelry that incorporates birthstones, names, dates, interesting and personal phrases and quips are my absolute favorite. I feel like you have so many choices out there when you purchase something, but few things that you can make especially personal. I want to create jewelry that will be remembered, loved and cherished..
I am now committed to making more eco-friendly jewelry by purchasing from companies who refine metals by earth friendly means ONLY! So, all of my charms, findings, pretty much anything metal - even my precious metal clay pieces (I use baby wipes to clean my hands and then mail in the wipes so that the metal can be refined out of them!!) is eco-friendly.
My goal is to create beautiful, memorable treasures and make them as Earth conscious as possible. Responsible luxury.
